Born in Alcobaça, he showed an early interest in cooking. At the age of 17, he moved to Lisbon and began his professional career at national and international level, where he collected several experiences in renowned restaurants and hotels such as Penha Longa Resort, Sushi Samba in London, Grain Store Gatwick ang Oriental Mandarim Hotel with the prestigious Chef Heston Bluemental at Dinner By Heston. At just 21 years of age, he won the 9th edition of the “Revolta do Bacalhau” contest, a professional national cuisine competition.
These international experiences, gave him the opportunity to work with products and techniques of excellence, which he has been incorporating in his cuisine style, marked by the product quality, flavour, textures and presentation. On his return to Portugal he was responsible for the VIP tent at Rock in Rio Lisboa, where he was one of the main responsible by presenting a gastronomic experience for about 2900 people per day. With a young and innovative spirit, Marcelo Tomás, now in charge of The Mad Kitchen team of chef’s, aims to create an unique and memorable gastronomic experiences facing each event and a challenge to overcome. It will make your event a Magical, Bold and Disruptive moment, making The Mad Kitchen the perfect partner.
